PTU Ho Ho Ho ( CT Tutorial )

I have some news. Lori at Scrap it studio.com  has asked me to become part of her CT. I'm a little nervous about it as I've never done it before but here is my first tutorial using 1 of her fab kits. 

Supplies Needed

Tube Of Choice. I have used the super artwork of  Elias Chatzoudis

PTU Scrap Kit is 'Christmas 2012' By Lori at Scrap It Studio.Com. You can purchase her kits  HERE

Font used - GradoGradoo

Filters Used

Mura's Meister - Copies
Tramages - Mo Jellyfish
EyeCandy - Shadowlab
Dsb Flux - Linear Transmission

Open a new image 700 x 700. 

From the kit c/paste Frame 1 (red) re size to 108%. Position in the centre of canvas.

Apply Dsb Flux - Linear Transmission (settings below)

Duplicate layer. change blend mode on top copy to hard light then merge down.
Add a white shadow using  Eyecandy - Shadowlab - No blur-  Distance 3 -Direction 270 - Opacity 100.

Above this layer c/paste Frame 2 (green) re size to 110%. D/shadow.

C/paste Red Frame 1 again above the green frame and re size to 102%. Click in centre of red frame with magic wand tool to float the inner. Selections - modify - expand by 2.

C/paste paper 7 re sized to 60%. Invert the selection and hit delete. Select None. Apply Tramages - Mo Jellyfish ( settings below) to paper and move below Frame. D/shadow Frame.

C/paste Star element. Apply Mura's - Copies- Encircle (settings below) Move to the bottom left of tag behind the Green Frame layer. Duplicate and mirror copy to right. Merge down. Duplicate again and flip copy to top. Merge down again and d/shadow.

C/paste Tree element re size to 110% and position in the centre of image. Duplicate re size copy to 0% and position to the left of original. Duplicate again and mirror copy to right. D/shadow all 3.

C/paste your tube and position toward the right of the canvas above Trees. Duplicate, working on top copy add a gaussian blur of 3 and change blend mode to soft light, opacity to 60. D shadow bottom copy.

Continue to add elements of choice from kit. working around tube and Frame layers. D/shadow to your liking. I used ....

Snowflake 1 - 40 %. Make 3 copies. Position at the top of each tree.

Lights - 85% Top of canvas above Tree, behind tube.

Holly - 60% Position top left behind Lights. Duplicate and mirror copy to right.

Santa - 90 %. left side of tag behind left side Tree.

Candy Cane - Mirror. Centre of tag behind tube.

Merge all layers. Crop/re size to your liking. I usually sharpen at this point rather than each separate element as I go along. Adjust - Sharpness - Unsharp Mask 5.0 - 30 -5.
Add name and relevant artist copyright and tube licence info.
Save as Png.

FTU Boo - Ti - Ful

Boo - Ti - Ful was written by Myself on 21st October 2013. It is my own idea and creation. Any similarity to any other tag or tutorial is co incidental.

Supplies Needed

Tube. I have used the brilliant artwork of  Elias Chatzoudis

Font used is Thufap

Open a new image 700 x 700.

C/paste element 2 - Frame. Re size to 70%. Take magic wand tool and click in centre to float. Selections - Modify - Expand by 3. 

C/paste paper 8 as a new layer. Selections - Invert - Delete.

Select none, move paper layer below Frame. 

D/shadow Frame and merge down.

Apply Tramages - Mo Jellyfish. ( settings I used below )

C/paste your tube and position to the right side of the canvas. D/shadow.

To the left of your canvas, behind Frame c/paste element 58 Tree. Re size to 85% and rotate left by 6. Position so that it is visible above the top of the Frame. Duplicate to strengthen and merge down. Duplicate again and mirror your copy to the right. 

C/paste the element again. This time re size to 50%. Position again behind the frame at the top of canvas where there is a gap between left and right copy of Tree. 

Duplicate this copy and move above frame in the centre of canvas behind tube layer.

At the bottom left of canvas C/paste element 42 Cauldron. Re size to 95%. Position behind tube layer and d/shadow.

Bottom of canvas again. C/paste element 54 - Green Sparkle and re size to 30%. Position centrally then duplicate twice. Move 1 copy to left the other to the right to create a line. Merge the 3 layers and position behind your tube, above Cauldron.

Continue by adding elements of choice from kit and d/shadow to your liking.

I used ....

66 Signpost - 90% - Rotate left by 4 degrees. Position to the left side of Frame behind Cauldron. Duplicate, change blend mode of top copy to multiply and merge down. 

16 Devil / Balloons - 35% - rotate to right by 5 degrees. Place top left behind Signpost. Using eraser tool, remove the Devil so that the cute little balloon faces appear as though there peering just over the Sign. Duplicate, change blend mode of top copy to multiply and merge down. Reduce opacity to 80.

44 Pumpkin Tree - 80%. Position centre of canvas, behind tube layer above Signpost. Duplicate, re size copy to 70% and move to bottom left above Cauldron and Green Sparkle.

61 Book - 60%. Bottom left above Pumpkin Tree, behind tube layer. Duplicate, change blend mode of top copy to multiply and merge down.

47 Cobweb - 30%. Above Cauldron, to left of and behind tube. 

10 Pumpkins - 45% - Mirror Image. Bottom right behind Green Sparkle layer. Duplicate, change blend mode to screen on top copy. merge down.

12 Scarecrow - 25% - Mirror Image. Bottom right. Above Pumpkins, behind tube.

35 Crosses - 20%. Bottom Right above Green Sparkle, behind tube.

36 Stones - 35% Bottom right above Crosses, behind tube.

39 Bubbles - 35%.  Top of canvas, above Frame behind Pumpkin Tree. Duplicate and move copy to left of tag above the Cauldron.

Merge all layers. Crop/re size to your liking. I usually sharpen at this point rather than each separate element as I go along. Adjust - Sharpness - Unsharp Mask 5.0 - 30 -5.

Add name and relevant artist copyright and tube licence info.

Save as Png.

FTU Autumn's Arrival

Mura's Meister - Copies

Open a new image 700 x 700. 

Starting with the mask layer C/paste Paper 31 as a new layer. Load mask from disk - fit to layer. In layer palette, delete mask and merge group. Reduce opacity to 80%.

Above mask layer, c/paste element 46 - Frame re sized to 75%. Duplicate, change blend mode of copy to hard light, reduce opacity to 70% and merge down with original frame. Click in centre of frame with magic wand to float. Selections - modify - expand by 10. C/paste paper 7. Invert the selection and hit delete. Select none. Move paper layer below frame, d/shadow frame and merge down.

C/paste element 8 - leaf  re sized to 20%. Apply Mura's Copies - Encircle. (see settings below) Position behind Frame layer and d/shadow.

Above the frame layer C/paste your tube and position to the right. D/shadow. With your tube in place work desired elements from kit around tube and frame layers. D/shadow to your liking. I used ...

 Element 26 - Branch/clocks - 90%. Position behind tube layer.

36- Lantern - 105%. Position on the left side of the frame. Use eraser tool to remove string.

33- Berries/leaves Cluster - 70% - Image - Mirror. Bottom left, behind tube above Lantern.

28 - Small Berries - 30%. Position on left side behind Lantern. Duplicate and mirror copy to right side.

45 - Leaf - 30%. Bottom right, behind tube above Berries.

9 - Flower Scatter - 45%. Position behind Branch/Clocks to the left of tube.

Merge all layers. Crop/re size to your liking. I usually sharpen at this point rather than each separate element as I go along. Adjust - Sharpness - Unsharp Mask 5.0 - 30 -5.
Add name and relevant artist copyright and tube licence info.
Save as Png.

FTU Curves

Curves was written by Myself on 25th May 2013. It is my own idea and creation. Any similarity to any other tag or tutorial is co incidental .

Supplies Needed.
Tube of choice. I have used Floreta, a fabulous Ftu tube from Elias Chatzoudis  HERE
Fantastic Ftu Scrap kit ' Flirty In Pink' by Mary @ Sweet As Honey Creationz  HERE

Filters Used
Xero - Radiance

Open template, duplicate and close original. Delete credits and Grey rectangle layer.

In Layer Palette - lilac circ 1. Selections - float. C/paste paper 7, re sized to 60%. De float, invert the selection and hit delete. Select none and delete original temp layer. Repeat for lilac circle 2.

Layer Palette - Large Blue rectangle - Float. C/paste paper 1. De float, invert and delete. Select none. Delete temp layer. 

Layer Palette - Merge thin blue rect 1 and 2 . Float. C/paste paper 10. De float, invert and delete. Select none and delete temp layer. D/shadow.

Layer Palette - White stripes - leave as is and drop shadow. 

Circle - Float. C/paste paper 4. De float, invert and delete. Select none and delete original temp layer. Above the circle C/paste Frame 1 from kit, re sized at 80%. Using the magic wand tool, click in the centre of frame to float. Modify - Expand the selection by 12. Below frame above circle, C/paste Element Heart 2 re sized to 110%. Centralise it beneath the selection. Invert and hit delete to remove excess heart . Select None. 

Working on the heart layer. Layer menu - Load mask from disk - Fit to layer. In layer palette - delete mask and merge group. Above this layer, behind frame layer, C/paste Screen 1 element. Add a drop shadow to frame.

On to the word art. 

Flaunt- Selections - float- modify- expand by 2. Add new layer and fill the selection with white. Select none . Move new white layer below original layer and merge down. Add shadow.

Small Curves - I re sized to 102 %.

Large Curves. - Using magic wand tool, click inside each letter to float. C/paste paper 4. Invert the selection and hit delete. Select None. If like me you want a bolder out line, Float the original word art- De float - modify - select selection borders- Border width 3, both sides, anti alias checked. Add new raster layer and flood fill the selection with black. Select none. Apply bevel or chrome to your liking. D/shadow.

C/paste your tube and position behind word art. Apply Xero - Radiance to suit and drop shadow. Now work desired elements from kit around tube and temp layers and drop shadow to your liking. I used ....

Cupcakeskull - re sized to 60%. Left of tag behind tube layer.

Bow 1 - re sized 40%. Position bottom right of tag, behind large word art. Duplicate and mirror copy to left. 

Heart 2 - re sized 40%. Right of tag behind bow, duplicate and mirror copy to left.

Emo Pills- re sized 40%. Bottom left of tag above word art and bow.

Cherries 1 - re sized 40%. Top right of tag, behind tube layer.

Bow 2 - re sized 35%. Top left of tag behind word art.

Skullcake -  re sized 40%. Bottom right of tag, behind Bow.

Mask Layer - C/paste paper 10 re sized to 85%. Move to bottom of layer palette. Go to layer menu. Load mask from disk- fit to layer. Delete mask in layer palette and merge group.

Merge visible. Crop/re size and sharpen to your liking. Add name and relevant copyright and licence info. Save as Png.

FTU Truly Scrumptious

Truly Scrumptious was written by myself on 23rd of May 2013. It is my own idea and creation. Any similarity to any other tag or tutorial is co incidental.

Supplies Needed

Gorgeous Ftu Scrap kit ' A Berry Bright Spring ' By Kaci @ Scrappin Krazy Designs  HERE

Template 40 By Me  HERE

Filters Used

Xero - Radiance

Open template, duplicate and close original. Delete credits, large red rectangle and  large dotted circle layer.

In layer palette merge red rectangle 1 and 2. selections - float. C/paste paper 2 as a new layer. De float and Invert the selection, hit delete. Select none and delete original temp layer.  Go to Effects - Distortion effects and apply Ripple, see settings below. Take the freehand selection tool and draw around the main part of the layer ( see image below ) invert the selection and hit delete to remove excess ripple we don't want in the tag. D/shadow.

Back to layer palette - Black Circle. Selections - float . C/paste paper 7 as a new layer. De float, invert and delete. Select none. Delete original temp layer.

Repeat same fill process for these layers..

Black rectangle - Paper 9. Delete original temp layer, D/shadow.

Grey rectangle - paper 5. Blend mode - overlay ( keep original temp layer ) add light radiance. 

Grey Circles - Paper 6. D/shadow. Delete original temp layer. Use manual colour correction to change small dotted circles from black to the blue colour from the kit.

White circles. Paper 7. D/ shadow. Delete original temp layer.

Central Black circle- Float. C/paste Element 26 - white flower. Re size to 145%. position beneath the selection. De float - invert and delete. Select None and delete original temp layer. Apply Same Ripple effect used on our first layer. 

Large white circle- float- C/paste paper 5. De float- invert and delete. Select none. Adjust gaussian blur by 2 and float again. Apply Texture Effects - Mosaic Glass. Then texture Effects - Weave .See settings below. Select none.

Word Art- Scrumptious- float and fill with paper of choice , I used 5 again and apply same texture effects  we used for white circle. Select none, delete original temp layer. Merge layer down with white word art and apply a slight shadow.

Word Art - Truly- Use manual colour correction to change the colour to your liking. Float and expand by 2. add new raster layer and flood fill the floating selection with white. Select none. Move new white layer below original merge down and again shadow.

C/paste your tube and position. Add a light radiance to suit your tube and drop shadow.

Now work elements of choice from kit around the tube and temp layers. Drop shadow to your liking. I used ....

Element 9 Milkshake. Left of tag behind tube layer.

Element 2 Butterfly. Re size 35%. Rotate left by 12. Top left of tag.

Element 18 Cherries. Re size 40%. Bottom left of tag behind word art, above milkshake layer.

Element 7 Cupcake. Re size 60%. Mirror and position bottom right behind word art.

Element 13 Tall Sundae. Mirror and rotate to right by 4. Position right of tag behind tube layer.

Element 3 Butterfly. Re size 40%. Right of tag above sundae.

Element 19 Flower. Re size 35%. Duplicate twice and position around the edge of white circle.

Element 22 Strawberry Frame. Re size 120%. Position Above the rippled layer and use raster deform tool to stretch out the sides a little.

FTU Spin Me Around

Spin me around was created by myself on the 1st Feb 2013. Any similarity to any other tag or tutorial is co-incidental.

Supplies Needed

Tube of Choice ( a sitting one preferably ) I have used the awesome art of Elias Chatzoudis HERE

Scrapkit. Fabulous FTU  Music Music by Rosesblack  HERE

Template by Me  HERE

Filters Used

Xero- Radiance

Eyecandy-gradient glow

Lets Crack On

Open template, duplicate and close original. Delete credits, background and small grey rectangle layer.

In layer palette- large grey rectangle. Selections-select all- float. Paste paper 16 and re size by 80%. De float, invert and hit delete, Select none and delete original layer. Go to adjust-add/remove noise. Add noise. Settings - Gaussian-40%-Monochrome checked.Add a drop shadow.

Back to layer Palette-white rectangle, Select all- float and paste paper 17. De float, invert and delete. Select none and delete original white rectangle .Drop shadow.

Layer Palette- Grey circle. Select all and float. We are going to create the effect of an old vinyl record. Add a new raster layer and flood fill with gradient. Foreground  a darkish grey and background black. Settings- sunburst-100 repeats- link centre focal points. Select none, delete original circle.

Layer Palette-large red circle.Select all and float. add new raster layer and flood fill with gradient using 2 colours from your tube.Settings - Radial- angle 45- repeats 2. Select none, delete original circle and drop shadow.

Back again to layer palette. Merge small circle 1 and 2 and select all- float. Add new raster layer and flood fill with same gradient as previous layer.It should work out that each circle is predominately one colour. ( my left circle pink, my right yellow) while still selected, paste elements disk 1 and 2 re sized by 50%. Place them centrally over circle layers, alternate colours, pink on yellow, yellow on pink. De float- invert and delete any overhang.Select none. Delete original circles. go back to you layer palette and add a drop shadow to black circle borders and merge down. Then go to word art layer, Plug ins- Eyecandy and add a thin gradient glow.  (colour taken from your tube)

Paste your tube and apply Xero-Radiance to your liking.Duplicate your tube and add a drop shadow on the original. on the duplicate, apply gaussian blur on 3 and change blend mode to soft light.

Now to adding the rest of our elements.

Note 2- re sized by 90% Image Mirror. Place behind tube. towards top of tag. Above vinyl record, below disks. Drop shadow.

Microphone- re sized by 70%. Place at bottom of tag, Behind tube, position to make it look like your tube is sat on top. Drop shadow.

Deco 2-re sized by 70%, place at the bottom of tag to your left, Behind Microphone, above disks.

Guitar-re sized by 90%, Rotate to left by 8% and place to your right, position to make it appear your tube is leaning against it, Drop shadow.

Star 6-re sized by 110% . Place as your bottom layer and position to your liking.

Add your Name and copyright info. Merge visible, Crop/re size and sharpen. save as PNG.
