Fired By Flamin: FTU Christmas Angel

Christmas Angel was written by myself on 9th December 2013. It is my own idea and creation. Any similarity to any other tag or tutorial is co incidental.

Supplies Needed
Tube of choice. I have used the beautiful artwork of VeryMany at VeryManyTubes.com

Filters Used
Tramages - Moving Screen

Open a new image 700 x 700.

In the centre of Canvas, c/paste Gold Frame re sized to 70%.

Click in centre of Frame with magic wand to float inner.

Selections - Modify - Expand by 3.

C/paste Paper 1 re sized to 70 %. Move behind Frame.

Invert the selection and hit delete. Select none.
D/shadow frame.

C/paste your tube. Apply a faint d /shadow.

I wanted my subject to appear to be sat within the frame so I duplicated ( the reason for the faint shadow :)

and moved the lower copy behind the Frame.

Using eraser tool I removed dress and wing on the right side up to the inside edge of frame on top copy and any tube that protruded the outer edge of Frame on bottom copy.

C/paste Wreath re sized to 90 %. Move to bottom of layer palette and position centrally in line with frame.

Apply a d/shadow.

Behind the Wreath, bottom left of canvas c/paste Ribbon Poinsettia re sized to 40 %. Using Manual color correction, change source colour from green to target gold. Duplicate layer and mirror copy to bottom right. Merge down. Duplicate again and flip copy to top. Merge down again. you should now have 4 poinsettias all on 1 layer. Re size this layer to 95% and d/shadow.

In the bottom right corner of the tag, above poinsettias behind wreath, c/paste and position Star Spray re sized to 30%. Duplicate and mirror copy to left. Merge down and d/shadow.

C/paste Green Ribbon re sized to 50%. Position bottom left of Frame behind the tube layer. Duplicate and mirror copy to right. Merge down and d/shadow.

On the the left hand side of canvas between the tube and the Frame, C/paste Snowflake Ornament re sized to 30%. Rotate right by 6 and d/shadow. Above this layer c/paste and position Jingle Balls re sized to 25% and d/shadow.

Lastly c/paste Star String re sized to 25%. Position above tube layer so that it looks as though it is being held from the hand. Duplicate and move copy over to the bottom right above the Ribbon. Change colour as we did for Poinsettias and use eraser to remove string on this copy. D/shadow both copies.

Merge all layers and sharpen your image. Adjust - Sharpness - Unsharp Mask 5.0 - 30 -5.

Now duplicate the image. Working on the bottom copy - Apply a Gaussian blur of 7 and then Tramages - Moving Screen (settings below) Reduce opacity to 50%.
